The following basketball student-athletes have been named Divisional Players-of-the-Week for the week of play ending Sunday, January 20.

MCAC Northern Division

Sherae' Cherenfant

Sherae' Cherenfant, a sophomore guard at Hibbing Community College has earned the MCAC Northern Division Player-of-the-Week honor for her role in a 2-1 week for the Cardinals. 

In a 106 minutes of work, the Deland, Florida product was 20-of-47 from the floor, including a 6-of-16 effort from three-point territory. She was 8-of-9 from the foul line for a total of 54 points on the week. Cherenfant also grabbed 19 boards, notched 16 assists and had nine steals for the Cardinals. 

Hibbing and Cherenfant will face Mesabi Range and Lake Superior College in MCAC Northern Division action this week. 

 

 

 

MCAC Southern Division 

Player-of-the-Week

Emily Shaffer

Worthington, MN

Emily Shaffer, a freshman at Minnesota West CTC has earned Southern Division Player-of-the-Week for her role in a pair of LadyJay contests. 

Shaffer collected a two-game total of 33 rebounds in outings against SCTCC and Western Technical College this past week. Her impressive total included a 22-board effort against the Cyclones. She also scored 27 LadyJay points across the two games. 

Shaffer and MnWest will face Ridgewater and RCTC this week in Southern Division action.
