MCAC Women's Basketball: Athletes-of-the-Week

The New Year brought with it a resumption of play for several basketball teams in the Minnesota College Athletic Conference and games in early January have yielded the Athletes-the-Week in MCAC women's basketball. 

Adidas, the United States Marine Corps and Nicklasson Athletic Company sponsor the MCAC Athlete-of-the-Week awards, and proudly honor the following student-athletes for their performances this past week on behalf of their teams.

Kamryn D'Heilly

The Performance:  Two-sport first year standout Kamryn D'Heilly helped lead the women's basketball team at St. Cloud Technical & Community College to a strong pair of games to open up 2020.

D'Heilly led the Cyclones with an impressive 20 rebounds and 24 points in a win over Mesabi Range. She was also a key part of a second SCTCC win as they dealt Itasca a 72-34 setback.

Janie Wunderlich

Soph. / Guard

Perham, MN

 

The Performance:  Sophomore guard Janie Wunderlich and the Northland Community & Technical College  women's basketball team picked up a pair of non-conference wins to open up 2020. 

The sophomore from Perham, Minnesota scored 39 points in 79 minutes of action for the Pioneers. Wunderlich went 14-for-33 from the floor for the week and hauled in 15 rebounds. She also dished out seven assists and shot 50% from behind the arc.

Wunderlich led NCTC to a 76-65 win over Dakota-Bottineau and a 61-59 win over Canadian Mennonite University.
