Moreno Wrestles Way to Weekly Honor

Rochester, MN-

Rochester Community & Technical College freshman Morgen Moreno (Hayfield, MN) has been tabbed Wrestler-of-the-Week in the Minnesota College Athletic Conference. 

Morgen Moreno compiled three straight victories en route to a first-place finish at the Dragon Open recently.  The Dragon Open, hosted by NCAA Division II Minnesota State-Moorhead, included four MCAC programs in Itasca Community College, Ridgewater, RCTC and Northland.

Competing in the 197 lb category, Moreno excelled  in the upper division of the event for the RCTC Yellowjackets. Moreno first with came via fall in 1:33 over Je-Mario Jones of Minot State University.  He went on to defeat  Jacob Arends of Concordia 7-4 and in the finals took down Cole Witzig of North Dakota State by a  7-2.

Next up for Moreno and Rochester is the SCSU Husky Open held at Saint Cloud State University on Saturday, December 8.
