MCAC Setter-of-the-Week

Brekkin McCready  (St. Charles, Mn) of Rochester Technical & Community College  has been tabbed as Setter-of-the Week in the Minnesota College Athletic Conference to open up the 2018 season. 

McCready was a major part of a strong 3-1 start for the Yellowjackets last week, with the only RCTC only loss being a 3-2 setback at the MCAC Crossover Tournament to #3 Central Lakes, decided by a 15-13 fifth set scoreline. 

RCTC swept all of their other Crossover tournament opponents by 3-0 scorelines and head into MCAC Southern Division play on Wednesday, August 29 when they travel to Western Technical College in La Crosse, Wisconsin for a 6:30pm match.  

Grace Mauersberger

MCAC Hitter-of-the-Week

Grace Mauersberger, a freshman at St. Cloud Technical & Community College has picked up the first Hitter-of-the-Week honor in the 2018 MCAC Volleyball season.

The St. Michael-Albertville product helped lead SCTCC to a 4-1 weekly record to start the fall campaign.  Mauersberger  lead her team with 69 total kills, good for a 3.83 per set average. The outside hitter also chipped in 29 digs, had a pair of service aces and contributed four blocks to the Cyclones over the week.  

Maurersberger and her SCTCC teammates are back in action on Wednesday, August 29, when they travel to #3 Central Lakes College for a clash of two of the top teams in NJCAA Division III volleyball.  Match start time in Brainerd is set for 6:30pm. 

Mia Greenman

MCAC Defensive Player-of-the-Week

Mia Greenman  (Canby, MN), a libero at M State-Fergus Falls has earned the Defensive Player-of-the-Week honor for the opening week of play in the Minnesota College Athletic Conference. 

Greenman currently leads the MCAC and is third nationally in digs, collecting 106 total across five matches for the Spartans.  Her squad went 3-1 at the MCAC Crossover Tournament, collecting wins against Rainy River, Itasca and Northland, while dropping a 3-1 decision to third-ranked Central Lakes. 

M State will take on North Dakota State College of Science on Wednesday, August 29 at home.  The non-conference match is set for a 6:30pm start. 

Mariah Stueness

MCAC All-Around Player-of-the-Week

Northland CTC volleyball is primed to be a contender in the 2018 MCAC Northern Division race and outside hitter Mariah Stueness looks to be a force for the Pioneers. In having a great start to the season, Stueness has been tabbed, All-Around Player-of-the-Week.

NCTC  went 5-1 last week to open 2018, including two wins over NJCAA Division II programs, Dakota College-Bottineau and North Dakota State College of Science.  Northland continued their momentum into the MCAC Crossover Tournament, winning their first three matches before a 3-2 setback against M State-Fergus Falls. 

Stueness and her teammates will travel to Itasca CC on Wednesday, August 29 to take on the Vikings in their MCAC Northern Division opener.  Match time is set for 6:30pm.
