The final regular season week of play of volleyball in the Minnesota College Athletic Conference has yielded the Players-of-the-Week, including a student-athlete who surpassed the 1,000 career assist mark as her team heads into the NJCAA post-season.

Setter-of-the-Week

Hannah Dietsch

Northland Community & Technical College setter Hannah Dietsch has been named the Setter-of-the-Week in the MCAC Volleyball ranks for the final week of regular season action, reaching an impressive career milestone. 

Dietsch reached the 1,000 career assist mark in NCTC's win over Rainy River Community College, while also notching a kill, two aces and four digs.  Against Hibbing, she added 20 more assists, seven digs and five kills. 

Dietsch and her Pioneer teammates move on to the 2018 NJCAA Region XIIIB tournament, which begins on Friday, November 2 in Brainerd.

Defensive Player-of-the-Week

Plainview, MN

Katlyn Bade, a libero for Rochester Community & Technical College earned the Defensive Player-of-the-Week for the final regular season week of play in MCAC Volleyball. 

The Plainview, Minnesota native averaged five digs per set, 45 total for the week, and contributed five serve aces to the Yellowjacket effort. RCTC wrapped up the regular season with a perfect 12-0 mark and will host the NJCAA Region XIIIA tournament, beginning on Friday, November 2.

Hitter-of-the-Week

 

Haley Hansen

Fr. / Middle Blocker

Iron, MN

Haley Hansen, a freshman from Iron, Minnesota, has been tabbed as the Hitter-of-the-Week for the week ending October, 28. 

The Mesabi Range College middle blocker had 27 kills, 10 blocks and a .412 hitting percentage, including an impressive 17 kills and five blocks against NJCAA Division II opponent Gogebic Community College. 

Mesabi Range will compete in the NJCAA Region XIIIB tournament this week, with an opening round match against Northland CTC on Friday, November 2.

All Around Player-of-the-Week

Paige Serbus

Fr. / Setter

Olivia, MN 

Paige Serbus, a Setter/Hitter from Olivia, Minnesota and competing for St. Cloud Technical & Community College has been tabbed the MCAC All-Around Player-of-the-Week for the week ending Sunday, October 28. 

Serbus played a significant role in the SCTCC crucial win over MnWest on Saturday, helping her team rally from a 0-2 deficit to a 3-2 win and spot in the NJCAA regional tournament. 

The freshman had 35 set assists over the week, 16 kills and 50 digs for the Cyclones, who head to Rochester this Friday for the first round of the NJCAA Region XIIIA volleyball tournament.
