NJCAA Softball National Tournament to Stay in Rochester

When Minnesota College Athletic Conference softball teams quality for the NJCAA National Tournament over the next three years, they will enjoy the fact that they do not have to travel all that far to compete. 

The Rochester Amateur Sports Commission was awarded the right to host the 2018, 2019 and 2020 NJCAA Division III National Championships in women's softball, building on the success of the past two seasons worth of national tournament play.  The venue for the eight-team tournament will continue to be   Park, and the greater Rochester area will enjoy the opportunity to host top-level community college fast-pitch softball. 

The MCAC sent two teams,  Central Lakes and St. Cloud Tech, to the 2016 National Championships. With the 2017 season turning the corner into important conference match-ups this weekend,  Anoka Ramsey and St. Cloud Tech sit at the top of the Southern Division with identical 5-1 records.   In the North, divisional play will begin in earnest with several squads competing in double-headers on Saturday and Sunday.
