MCAC Volleyball Players-of-the-Year, All-Region Tournament Teams Named

The 2019 MCAC Volleyball Players-of-the-Year and the NJCAA Region XIII All-Tournament teams have been named, following the conclusion of volleyball post-season tournaments in Brainerd and Rochester. 

Northern Division & Region XIIIB champion Central Lakes College saw standout Hailey Tihlarik garner Player-of-the-Year status, with MCAC Divisional coaches voting the sophomore from Onamia, Minnesota top honors for her performance this past season.  The Raiders head to the National tournament at 18-13 overall for the year and Tihlarik and her team are ranked #10 in the current NJCAA Division III Volleyball poll. 

In the Southern Division, returning RCTC All-America selection Carrie Rutledge turned in a sensational sophomore campaign, leading her team to an unbeaten mark in MCAC and post-season play, as well as a 29-2 overall record.  The sophomore from Hayfield, Minnesota sits No. 1 nationally in Kill-per-Set average, at 4.94 and second in total kills, at 474.  Rutledge captured Southern Division Player-of-the-Year honors for 2019. RCTC is currently #2 in the National poll. 

In addition, the All-Region Tournament teams from both tournaments have been selected by participating coaches.  Read on the 2019 All-Region teams in volleyball; Central Lakes College and Rochester Community & Technical College both advanced to the 2019 NJCAA Division III Volleyball National Championships, held in Rochester, Minnesota on November 14-16.  RCTC Yellowjacket Brekkin McCready and CLC Raider Sydney Berg were named Region Tournament MVP's for 2019.
