The RCTC Yellowjacket baseball team is off to a great start this spring, as the Jackets are currently 3-0-1 on the young season.  The RCTC pitching staff has been an integral part of their early season success.  The Jackets currently own a combined 2.89 ERA and have allowed only 9 earned runs over the first four games of the year.  Leading the way on the hill for RCTC so far has been Drew Simmons of Stewartville, MN.  The freshman is 2-0 on the young season.

For his early season success Simmons has earned NJCAA DIII Pitcher of the Week honors.

In Simmons two appearances last week he gave up only 6 hits and 1 earned run over a combined 8 innings pitched.  He currently has an ERA of 1.13 and has struck out 8 while walking only 1.

The Jackets are back in action for a four game series this weekend with Rainy River.  The first two games will be played at US Bank Stadium on Friday the 19th.  First pitch is scheduled for 10:00am.
