Rochester, MN-

After a year away from a Minnesota College Athletic Conference (MCAC) baseball season, collegiate teams throughout the land of lakes have returned to the field to prepare for an exciting spring.  With the 2021 NJCAA baseball season underway, MCAC baseball coaches share their thoughts and predictions for the 2021 season.

Minnesota College Athletic Conference Baseball competes at the NJCAA Division III level and is divided into a Northern, Central, and Southern division.

Central Division coaches selected St. Cloud Technical and Community College as the likely team to finish atop the division. The Cyclones return several players who retained eligibility due to COVID and should be led by 2019 First Team NJCAA All-American Will Funk (Sauk Centre, MN).  In the Northern Division, Itasca Community College was picked to finish slightly ahead of Vermilion Community College; while Southern Division coaches named Century College to finish the season with the division championship.

MCAC Baseball will see a new coach, Grant Harding, taking over the Minnesota State – Fergus Falls' program. Justin Lamppa (Itasca Community College – 24 years), Josh Koenig (Rainy River Community College – 12 years), and Jason Fischer (St. Cloud Technical and Community College – 10 years) are the veteran skippers in the conference.

Read on for the predicted order of finish in each division and for season previews of the teams who comprise the Northern, Central and Southern Division ranks of the MCAC. Be sure to follow @MCACSports and @NJCAABaseball on Twitter for the latest in MCAC and NJCAA two-year college baseball news, rankings and season information.
