The M State Men's Golf Team captured the Region XIII Championship and have advanced to the NJCAA national tournment.  The Spartans fired a 303 (2 day total of 614) in round 2 for the victory.  Wyatt Blomseth shot a final round 70 (-2) to win medalist honors with a two day total of 149. Blomseth had a bogey-free round and reached 15/18 greens in regulation. M State's Grant Inniger was runner-up with a 2 day 153 (77-76) and Hunter Burnside was 3rd with a 155 (79-76).  This is the 10th consecutive year the Spartans have qualified for the National Tournament.  M State has finished Nationally in the top 5 every year including winning the title in 2012.

"I was so pleased with the way we played and competed today." said head coach Jason Retzlaff.  "The guys earned it with an outstanding round of 303 and should have a lot of confidence going into the National Tournament.  This is a high quality group of young men on and off the golf course and I am so happy that they will have the opportunity to compete in New York for a National Championship next month.  Wyatt Blomseth played a near flawless round today and made no bogies.  He missed very few shots and if he did, his putter was on fire so it didn't matter.  It was one of the most well played rounds we have had in our program."

The Spartans will compete in the NJCAA Div. III National Championship at Chautauqua Golf Club in Chautauqua, NY (June 8-11).
