Lozoya, Davis, McKnight each named NJCAA DIII National Football Player-of-the Week

Three Minnesota College Athletic Conference student-athletes earn this week's NJCAA DIII Football National Player-of-the-Week honors. 

Israel Lozoya, sophomore running back from Rochester Mayo HS rushed for 160 yards and scored two touchdowns, including a 95-yard touchdown run. DT Keith Davis tallied 4.5 of Itasca's eleven sacks against Rochester, en route to being named the #NJCAAFootball DIII Defensive Player of the Week, presented by TicketSmarter. Kicker Carsen McKnight (Minnesota State - Fergus Falls) has earned this week's DIII Football National Special Teams Player of the Week honor. The freshman from Coalville, UT was perfect on extra point attempts as he nailed four in the 28-14 Spartan win over Central Lakes on Saturday. Carsen has yet to miss an extra point this season, totaling nine PAT's through the first two weeks of the season.
