US Marines MCAC Week 6 Football Honors Announced

The Minnesota College Athletic Conference (MCAC) has released its week 6 football awards for the week of September 27 - October 3.  The MCAC Football Player-of-the-Week awards are sponsored by the U.S. Marines.

#3 North Dakota State College of Science linebacker, Jaderian Johnson, claims a Defensive Player-of-the-Week award with his 10 tackle performance on Saturday to help keep his team undefeated on the season.

Central Lakes College athletes earned an Offensive and a Defensive Player-of-the-Week award this week after their close loss to #3 ranked NDSCS. Wide receiver, Tucker Schultz, was named Offensive Player-of-the-Week when he averaged over 40 yards per catch and scored a touchdown for the Raiders.  Charles Dressel, Raiders linebacker, had 11 tackles and a sack to earn the Defensive Player-of-the-Week honor.

Rochester Community and Technical College also had two athletes earn honors this week.  Dylan Ingram, the Yellowjackets running back, rushed for 92 yards and had 64 yards receiving to bring home the Offensive Player-of-the-Week award.  Standout kicker/punter for the Yellowjackets, Ethan Forthun, was named the Special Teams Player-of-the-Week going 4 for 4 on extra points and having a long punt of 63 yards. 

Each week throughout the 2021 season, two offensive, two defensive, and a special teams athlete will be named players-of-the-week, based on nominations submitted by MCAC member football programs.

Offensive Players-of-the-Week

 

 

Tucker Schultz

Fr. / WR

Kimball, MN

 

 

Central Lakes College wide receiver, Tucker Schultz, caught three balls for 124 yards and a touchdown in his team's narrow loss to #3 North Dakota State College of Science on Saturday. The freshman from Kimball, MN averaged 41.3 yards per reception, and is averaging 25.9 yards per catch this season.  Schultz has 388 receiving yards on the year with three touchdowns, and earns the Offensive Player-of-the-Week award.

The Raiders are now 2-4 overall and 2-3 in conference play.  They return to the field on Saturday when they travel to Vermilion Community College.

                    

Dylan Ingram

Memphis, TN

 

 

Dylan Ingram, sophomore running back for Rochester Community and Technical College, has been named an Offensive Player-of-the-Week.  Ingram rushed for 92 yards on 29 carries and scored a touchdown.  He also caught four balls for 64 yards. The Memphis, TN product has rushed for 486 yards this season and seven touchdowns.

Rochester Community and Technical College is now 4-2 on the season and 3-2 in MCAC play, and the Yellowjackets travel to #3 North Dakota State College of Science on Saturday.

Michael Bond (RB, Itasca CC):  9 carries for 68 yards and 3 touchdowns

Jaderian Johnson

Cantonment, FL

 

 

Jaderian Johnson, sophomore linebacker for #3 North Dakota State College of Science, earns a Defensive Player-of-the-Week honor with his 10 tackles, seven of which were solo and two resulted in loss of yardage on the play.  The The Cantonment, FL native also had a sack and fumble recovery in the game, and now has 32 tackles and 4.5 sacks on the season.

The Wildcats are 6-0 on the season, 5-0 in conference play.  They host Rochester Community and Technical College on Saturday.

 

Charles Dressel

Mounds View, MN

 

 

Central Lakes College sophomore linebacker, Charles Dressel, earns a Defensive Player-of-the-Week honor after his 11 tackle performance in his team's loss in the final minute of action to #3 NDSCS on Saturday.  The Mounds View, MN native had seven solo tackles and a sack in the game, with 4.5 of his tackles resulting in a loss of yardage.

The Raiders are now 2-4 on the season and 2-3 in conference play, and they travel to Vermilion Community College to play on Saturday.

Hunter Nissen (LB, Central Lakes College):  7 total tackles with 2.5 for a loss of yardage, 2 sacks

Ja'Sion Greathouse (DE, Itasca CC):  6 total tackles and a sack

Jerimiah Boyle (DL, Rochester CTC):  3 total tackles with 1 for a loss of yardage, 1 forced fumble

Ethan Forthun

Dexter, MN

 

Rochester Community and Technical College freshman kicker and punter, Ethan Forthun, was 4 for 4 on extra point tries and punted 4 times for 190 total yards with a long punt of 63 yards.  With that effort, Forthun earns the Special Teams Player-of-the-Week award.  The Dexter, MN product has now made 26 or 28 point after attempts and has scored 38 points for the Yellowjackets.

RCTC moves to 4-2 on the season and 3-2 in the MCAC.  They travel to #3 North Dakota State College of Science on Saturday.

Terry Fields (P/DB, Itasca CC):  3 punts averaging 46.7 yards per punt with a long of 52 yards, 3 touchbacks on kickoffs

Nikolas Hunchak (K/P, NDSCS):  5 punts for 212 total yards with a long of 61 yards, 2 for 2 on extra points
