Mursal named MVP as All-Region XIII Men's Soccer Team is Announced

Rochester, MN -

The 8-member All-Region XIII Men's Soccer Team has been announced for the Fall 2021 season, and Anoka-Ramsey Community College's freshman wing, Mohamed Mursal, was named the Most Valuable Player.  He had already earned the Minnesota College Athletic Conference (MCAC) Player-of-the-Year honor, while his coach, Qassim Ilmi, had been named the MCAC Men's Soccer Coach-of-the-Year as well.

Mursal scored 12 goals and assisted on 12 goals this season, both tops in the Minnesota College Athletic Conference.  He led his Golden Ram team into the Midwest District Championships where they defeated Harper College 2-1 before ending the season with a 4-1 loss to Richland College.

Anoka-Ramsey won the MCAC and Region XIII title this season, and along with Mursal, the Golden Rams placed three additional athletes on the All-Region XIII Team.

Riverland Community College, who finished their season in the Region XIII title game, had three athletes make the All-Region XIII Team; while Minnesota West Community and Technical College had one athlete make the esteemed list.
