MCAC Volleyball Teams Continue into Region XIII A & B Tournaments

After an exciting Minnesota College Athletic Conference Volleyball regular season, the field is set for the Region XIII tournaments which begin on Friday, October 29.

The Region XIII A Tournament is made up of teams from the MCAC South division.  Minnesota State - Fergus Falls claimed the #1 seed after tying in the standings with Rochester Community and Technical College, each at 15-1 in conference play with their one loss coming at the hands of each other.  After a coin flip was won by M State, the host location and top seed was determined.  Rochester is the #2 seed and will look to make a return to the national tournament which will be held on their home court.  The #3 seed is the very tough St. Cloud Tech Cyclones who bring a 12-4 conference record into the tournament.  Rounding out the Region XIII A Tournament is #4 seeded Century College with their 8-8 conference record.

M State Volleyball will host the Region XIII A Tournament on Friday and Saturday in Fergus Falls, MN.

Region XIII A Tournament Schedule:

Friday, October 29th

Game 1: 6:00 PM #1 M State vs. #4 Century College

Game 2: 8:00 PM #2 RCTC vs. #3 St. Cloud Tech

Saturday, October 30th

Championship: 12:00 PM 

The winner of the tournament advances to the NJCAA DIII Championship on November 11-13 in Rochester, MN.

 

The Region XIII B Tournament is comprised of the top 4 colleges from the MCAC North division.  Central Lakes College, by going undefeated (11-0) in conference action, has earned the #1 seed and hosting responsibilities for the tournament. Northland Community and Technical College claims the #2 seed with their 8-4 conference record.  Hibbing and Vermilion Community Colleges tied with a 7-5 conference record, but based on head-to-head set records, Hibbing became the #3 seed and Vermilion will be the #4 seed.

Central Lakes Volleyball will host the Region XIII B Tournament on Friday and Saturday in Brainerd, MN.

Region XIII B Tournament Schedule:

Friday, October 29th

Game 1: 6:00 PM #1 Central Lakes vs. #4 Vermilion

Game 2: 8:00 PM #2 Northland vs. #3 Hibbing

Saturday, October 30th

Championship: 12:00 PM 

The winner of the tournament also advances to the NJCAA DIII Championship on November 11-13 in Rochester, MN.
