The Minnesota College Athletic Conference (MCAC) has released its athlete-of-the-week awards for the week of November 29 - December 5. The weekly athlete-of-the-week awards are sponsored by the U.S. Marines.
Quamar Gresham, Central Lakes College freshman point guard, played 60 minutes last week and scored 40 points on 14-22 shooting, while hitting 5 three-pointers. He earns the week's MCAC North Men's Basketball Player-of-the-Week honor.
Northland Community and Technical College sophomore guard, Macy Skyberg, scored 40 points in her 64 minutes of action last week, and grabbed 19 rebounds in her team's two wins. Skyberg earns the week's MCAC North Women's Basketball Player-of-the-Week award.
Averaging nearly a point per minute, Brett Engelmeyer, Minnesota State Community and Technical College freshman guard, is this week's MCAC South Men's Basketball Player-of-the-Week. Engelmeyer grabbed 12 rebounds and scored 61 points for the Spartans en route to earning three wins during the week.
Myia Ruzek, sophomore guard for Rochester Community and Technical College, earns the MCAC South Women's Basketball Player-of-the-Week honor. Ruzek scored 26 points and had 2 rebounds in the Yellowjackets win over Rainy River last week and helped lead her team to a 21-1 run in the 3rd quarter of the game.

The St. Cloud, MN product also had 9 rebounds and 7 assists in 60 minutes of action. The Raiders are now 7-2 on the season, and they return to the court on Friday when they host Gogebic Community College. |

Northland is now 5-3 on the season and next hosts Lake Region State College on Tuesday.
