The Minnesota College Athletic Conference (MCAC) has released its weekly football athletes of the week awards for the week of August 29 - September 4.
North Dakota State College of Science quarterback, Graedyn Buell, earned an Offensive Player-of-the-Week honor with his 6-touchdown performance, going 11-14 and 219 yards in the air and 6 rushes for 48 yards on the ground. Rondarius Gregory, Minnesota State Community & Technical College running back, earned the other Offensive Player-of-the-Week award after rushing for 113 yards on 13 carries, averaging 8.69 yards per carry, and scoring 3 touchdowns.
Preston Yohnke, North Dakota State College of Science defensive lineman, had 5 tackles, 1 for a loss, and an interception to earn a Defensive Player-of-the-Week honor. Jake Drietz, linebacker for Minnesota State Community & Technical College, earned the other Defensive Player-of-the-Week award with his 4 solo tackles and 5 assists, 1 for a sack, and a forced fumble.
Rashaun Cage picks up the week's Special Teams Player-of-the-Week award. The Central Lakes College kick returner/wide receiver returned 7 kicks for a total of 194 yards, averaging 27.7 yards per return.
Each week throughout the 2022 season, two offensive, two defensive, and a special teams athlete will be named players-of-the-week, based on nominations submitted by MCAC member football programs.
