The Minnesota College Athletic Conference (MCAC) has released its weekly football athletes of the week awards for the week of September 19 - 25.
Minnesota State Community & Technical College running back, Rondarius Gregory, earned an Offensive Player-of-the-Week honor for the second straight week after rushing for 131 yards on 19 carries and 2 touchdowns. He also caught 5 balls for 113 yards and a touchdown in the Spartans win over #3 ranked Nassau Community College. David Boyd Jr., Central Lakes College wide receiver, earned the other Offensive Player-of-the-Week award after catching 4 balls for 70 yards and a touchdown in the Raiders win over Minnesota North - Mesabi Range.
Nicholas Korom, Central Lakes College defensive lineman, had 5 tackles with 4 of them solo, a sack and a tackle for a loss of yardage to earn a Defensive Player-of-the-Week honor. North Dakota State College of Science linebacker, Manny Garcia, earned the other Defensive Player-of-the-Week award with his 2 tackles and a defensive touchdown. He also had a sack, an interception, and a forced fumble in the team's win over Minnesota North - Vermilion.
Cole Hiltner, Central Lakes College special teams player, picks up the week's Special Teams Player-of-the-Week award. Hiltner blocked a punt and returned it 27 yards for a touchdown to help secure the win over Minnesota North - Mesabi Range.
Each week throughout the 2022 season, two offensive, two defensive, and a special teams athlete will be named players-of-the-week, based on nominations submitted by MCAC member football programs.
