The Minnesota College Athletic Conference (MCAC) has released its winter sports weekly awards for the week of November 28 - December 4.
Minnesota North College - Rainy River forward, Kiarra Edley, earned the MCAC North Division Women's Basketball Athlete-of-the-Week. Edley had back-to-back-to-back double-doubles last week scoring 34 points and rebounding 33 balls in 3 games. Ziaire Davis, forward for Minnesota North College - Mesabi Range, earned the MCAC North Division Men's Basketball Athlete-of-the-Week award. Davis scored 47 points, averaging 15.67 per game and shooting 51.5% from the field in his 3 games while also rebounding 20 shots.
Riverland Community College guard, Savannah Longhoma, has been named the week's MCAC South Division Women's Basketball Athlete-of-the-Week. Longhoma averaged 29 points and seven assists in each of her games last week, shooting 47.7% from the field and 53.6% from the 3-point line. Ridgewater College guard, Jaylyn Clardy, averaged a double-double in each of his games last week, shooting 47% from behind the arc and 45.8% from the field. He had 65 points and 34 rebounds with 9 assists and 9 steals in his 3 games to earn the MCAC South Division Men's Basketball Athlete of the Week award.
