The Minnesota College Athletic Conference (MCAC) has released its baseball weekly awards for the week of April 17-23.
Century College left-handed pitcher, Kaden Pfeffer, threw a one-hit shutout to earn this week's MCAC South Division Baseball Pitcher of the Week award. Pfeffer was 1-0 in 5 innings of work, striking out 10 and giving up only one unearned run. He had a 0.00 ERA on the week. Rees Campanale, Rochester Community & Technical College OF/DH, earned his second straight MCAC South Division Baseball Position Player of the Week award after going 12 for 20 from the plate, with a .600 batting average. Campanale hit 2 doubles, scored 3 runs, and collected 11 RBI while also stealing 2 bases.
Noah Cekalla, right-handed pitcher for Central Lakes College, earned the MCAC Central Division Baseball Pitcher of the Week honor. Cekalla was 1-0 in his one appearance, throwing a complete game 7 innings without giving up an earned run. Cekalla struck out 11 and gave up only 3 hits in the game. There were no nominations for the week's MCAC Central Division Baseball Position Player of the Week award.
Minnesota North College - Itasca right-handed pitcher, Jayden Hoffman, has been named this week's MCAC North Division Baseball Pitcher of the Week. In his one appearance of 7 innings, Hoffman threw a no-hitter, striking out 6 and walking only one batter. Minnesota North College - Rainy River 3B/DH/1B, Shane Erickson, went 11 for 20 from the plate, hitting .550 with two doubles and 4 home runs, 2 of which were grand slams. Erickson had 18 RBI and scored 9 runs to earn the week's MCAC North Division Baseball Position Player of the Week award.
