The Minnesota College Athletic Conference (MCAC) has released its weekly football athletes of the week awards for the week of September 18-24.
Minnesota West Community and Technical College running back, Rejiwon Dupree, carried the ball 14 times for 96 yards and caught two passes for 31 yards to earn an Offensive Player-of-the-Week award. Dupree averaged 6.9 yards per carry. Dupree's teammate and BlueJays wide receiver, Joshua Yarbrough, caught 4 passes for 68 yards and two touchdowns to earn the other Offensive Player-of-the-Week award.
Lovely Tshibanda, Minnesota North College - Mesabi Range linebacker, had eleven tackles and six sacks to earn a Defensive Player-of-the-Week award. Tshibanda also had 7.5 tackles for a loss, a forced fumble and recovery, and two pass break-ups in the Norse 33-10 win over Central Lakes College. Minnesota West linebacker, Aidan Bradshaw, earned the other Defensive Player-of-the-Week award. Bradshaw had eleven total tackles, two sacks, three tackles for loss, a forced fumble and a recovery.
Rochester Community and Technical College kicker/punter, Rodrigo Castaneda, earned the Special Teams Player-of-the-Week award after going 2 for 2 on field goal attempts with a long of 44 yards, and 3 for 3 on extra-point tries Castaneda had seven kickoffs for 420 total yards and two punts for 101 yards in the Yellowjackets 36-15 win over Minnesota West.
