The Minnesota College Athletic Conference (MCAC) has released its weekly football athletes of the week awards for the week of September 25 - October 1.
Minnesota State Community and Technical College quarterback, KJ Cooper, threw for 254 yards and three touchdowns, completing 14 of 23 passes, while also running for 25 yards and a touchdown in the Spartan's win over #3 Rochester, earning him an Offensive Player-of-the-Week award. David Boyd Jr., wide receiver for Central Lakes College, caught 4 passes for 113 yards and two touchdowns to earn the other Offensive Player-of-the-Week award.
Ashton Hanan, linebacker for Central Lakes College, had 10 tackles, eight of them solo, and a tackle for loss to earn a Defensive Player-of-the-Week award. North Dakota State College of Science outside linebacker, Erik Lumpkin, earned the other Defensive Player-of-the-Week award. Lumpkin had seven total tackles, four of them solo, and two tackles for a loss of yardage along with a quarterback hit.
Minnesota North College - Vermilion kicker/punter, Ante Acosta, earned the Special Teams Player-of-the-Week award after going 3 for 3 on field goal attempts with a long of 42 yards, and 2 for 2 on extra-point tries. Acosta had five kickoffs for 260 total yards and two punts for 90 yards helping the Ironhawks to their first win in two seasons.
