The Minnesota College Athletic Conference (MCAC) has released its weekly football athletes of the week awards for the week of October 2 - 8.
Central Lakes College running back, David Collins, carried the ball 19 times for 136 yards and a touchdown while also catching a pass for 20 yards and a touchdown to earn an Offensive Player-of-the-Week award. Rochester Community and Technical College quarterback, Devin Watson, completed 16 of 31 passes for 247 yards and four touchdowns in a win over #2 North Dakota State College of Science to earn the other Offensive Player-of-the-Week award.
Rochester Community and Technical College linebacker, Martell Williams, had 16 tackles, 4.5 of them for a loss of yardage, and an interception to earn a Defensive Player-of-the-Week award. Minnesota North College - Vermilion defensive end, Mark Cox, earned the other Defensive Player-of-the-Week award. Cox had five tackles, 4 sacks, and one tackle for a loss of yardage, while also pressuring the quarterback twice.
There were no nominations for the Special Teams Player-of-the-Week award.
