The Minnesota College Athletic Conference (MCAC) has released its weekly soccer awards for the week of October 2 - 8.
Alexandria Technical and Community College goalkeeper Molly Hanson earned the MCAC Women's Soccer Goalkeeper-of-the-Week award after saving 22 shots on 28 opportunities in 90 minutes of action against #8 Rochester Community and Technical College. Rochester Community and Technical College defender, Keely Troup, captained her team to a shutout victory over Alexandria Technical and Community College to earn the Defensive Field Athlete-of-the-Week award. Mackenzie Polson, forward for RCTC, scored two goals and had three assists in the Yellowjackets win to earn the week's Offensive Field Athlete-of-the-Week award.
Minnesota West Community and Technical College goalkeeper, Eli Robinson, earned the MCAC Men's Soccer Goalkeeper-of-the-Week honor by saving six shots on goal in 158 minutes and earning his second clean sheet of the season. Riverland Community College midfielder, Ntsako Baloyi, was named the Defensive Field Athlete-of-the-Week after assisting on four goals and leading the Blue Devils defense in three more wins. Kaleb Tadesse, forward for Riverland Community College, earned the Offensive Field Athlete-of-the-Week honor after scoring five goals in his seven shots on goal and assisting on another as the Blue Devils picked up three wins in seven days.
