
The 2023 Minnesota College Athletic Conference (MCAC) Football playoffs begin Saturday, October 21, with six of the conference's seven teams hitting the field in the quarterfinal round. With one game on Saturday and two on Sunday, fans will see some competitive football. The top seeds in each matchup are ranked nationally in the NJCAA top 5 poll, and all MCAC Football teams will battle it out over the next three weekends to determine the Region 13 Champion. The championship game is scheduled for November 5 at St. Cloud State University, with the winner likely playing in the NJCAA DIII National Championship Game.
Rochester Community and Technical College claimed the top seed in the post-season tournament and will have a bye in the quarterfinals. The Yellowjackets are 6-2 overall and 5-1 in the MCAC and have a national ranking of #2 in the NJCAA DIII Football poll. They will host the winner of the #4 vs. #5 game on Sunday, October 29.
North Dakota State College of Science is the #2 seed in the playoffs and nationally ranked #3 after a strong 6-2 season and 5-1 record in MCAC play. On Sunday, they will host the 7th-seeded Blue Jays of Minnesota West Community and Technical College, who finished with a 0-6 overall record and 0-6 record in the MCAC.
Minnesota North College - Mesabi Range earned the #3 seed in this year's tournament, posting a 4-3 overall record and 4-2 record in the MCAC. The Norse will host the #6 seeded Minnesota North College - Vermilion Ironhawks in Sunday's matchup. The Ironhawks finished the regular season with a 1-5 overall and MCAC record.
Minnesota State Community and Technical College picked up the #4 seed with a 4-3 overall record and 4-2 record in the MCAC. The Spartans will host the 5th-seeded Central Lakes College Raiders on Saturday, who are 2-5 overall and 2-4 in the MCAC.
All MCAC playoff games are played at the highest-seeded team in the pairing. Game times are at 1:30 PM unless otherwise noted on the teams' schedules.
