The Minnesota College Athletic Conference (MCAC) has released its baseball weekly awards for the week of March 4-10.
Kaeden Wilhite, right-handed pitcher for Minnesota West Community and Technical College, has been named this week's MCAC South Division Baseball Pitcher of the Week. Wilhite threw 4.1 innings in relief, giving up no runs on three hits and striking out seven. Seth Nelson, OF/INF for Century College, went 9 for 23 from the plate, hitting .391 and homering in three straight games. He finished the week with seven RBI, six runs, two walks, and a stolen base to earn this week's MCAC South Division Baseball Position Player of the Week honor.
Ridgewater College right-handed pitcher Sam Etterman earned the week's MCAC Central Division Baseball Pitcher of the Week honor. In his one start, Etterman threw a five-inning complete game, giving up only two earned runs and five hits while striking out five and walking two. Andrew Prieve, third baseman for Ridgewater College, earned the week's MCAC Central Division Baseball Position Player of the Week award. Prieve hit .484, going 15 for 31 with three doubles, two triples, and a home run. He also had 15 RBI and two stolen bases.
Landon Wilkins, right-handed pitcher for Minnesota North College - Vermilion, has earned this week's MCAC North Division Baseball Pitcher of the Week. Wilkins captured his first collegiate win throwing five no-hit innings in his one start of the week. He gave up one earned run and struck out four while only walking two batters. Minnesota North College - Itasca catcher/DH, Kole Paulsen, went 9 for 22 at the plate, hitting .409, with a triple and a home run. He also had 11 RBI, scoring 6 runs and walking seven times, while stealing three bases. For his efforts, Paulsen earns the week's MCAC North Division Baseball Position Player of the Week award.
