MCAC Baseball Athletes of the Week: Week of April 1-7

Rochester, MN - 

The Minnesota College Athletic Conference (MCAC) has released its baseball weekly awards for the week of April 1-7.

Jordan Bauer, a right-handed pitcher for Minnesota West Community and Technical College, has been named this week's MCAC South Division Baseball Pitcher of the Week. In his one start and seven innings of work, Bauer struck out nine batters and gave up only one run on five hits to pick up the win. He did not give up a walk and had a 1.29 ERA on the week, earning his second win of the season. Augusto Mungarrieta, catcher for Rochester Community and Technical College, hit .714 during the week, going 5 for 7 with a double and a home run. Mungarrieta drove in three runs, walked once, and stole a base to help his Yellowjackets pick up two wins during the week and earn this week's MCAC South Division Baseball Position Player of the Week honor.

There were no nominations for the week's MCAC Central Division Baseball Pitcher of the Week award. Ridgewater College shortstop Nolan Eischens went 5 for 7 from the plate, hitting .714, with two doubles and a home run. Eischens drove in eight runs, scored four, and walked once to lead his team to two more wins and earn him the week's MCAC Central Division Baseball Position Player of the Week award. 

Isaac Mata, a right-handed pitcher for Northland Community and Technical College, has earned this week's MCAC North Division Baseball Pitcher of the Week. Mata, in his one start during the week, threw a complete game one-hitter to get a win for the Pioneers. In his seven innings, Mata struck out six and walked three without giving up a run. He also hit .230 on the week and scored seven runs. Minnesota North College Itasca outfielder Bennett Schultz went 9 for 15 from the plate, hitting .600, with two doubles and a home run. He drove in seven runs, scored three, walked once, and stole a base to help the Vikings win five of their six games during the week and earn the week's MCAC North Division Baseball Position Player of the Week award.
