The Minnesota College Athletic Conference (MCAC) has released its baseball weekly awards for the week of April 22-28.
Triston Sauerbrei, a right-handed pitcher for Minnesota West Community and Technical College, has been named this week's MCAC South Division Baseball Pitcher of the Week. Sauerbrei went 1-0 in his one start, pitching a complete game and giving up only two earned runs on three hits. He struck out 10 batters and walked only three in the win. Griffin Olson, shortstop for Rochester Community and Technical College, went 7 for 15 from the plate, hitting .467 with a double and three home runs. Olson drove in six runs and scored eight times while walking once and stealing a base. He also recorded a save in one of the Yellowjackets wins and earned this week's MCAC South Division Baseball Position Player of the Week honor.
Carson Reeve, left-handed pitcher for St. Cloud Technical and Community College, threw a two-hit shutout in his one appearance, picking up a win and earning him this week's MCAC Central Division Baseball Pitcher of the Week award. Reeve struck out six batters and walked three over his seven scoreless innings of work. Minnesota State Community and Technical College shortstop, Isaac Hamann, went 10 for 15 from the plate, hitting .667, with two doubles, a triple, and a home run. Hamann also drove in six RBI, scored 11 runs, and walked five times to earn this week's MCAC Central Division Baseball Position Player of the Week award.
Thor Dunham, a right-handed pitcher for Minnesota North College - Itasca, earned this week's MCAC North Division Baseball Pitcher of the Week award after picking up a win in his one start this week. Dunham threw five innings, scattering four hits without giving up a run. He struck out two batters and walked two in the win. Austin Jackson-Anderson, an outfielder for Minnesota North College - Rainy River, hit .684, going 13 for 19 from the plate with five doubles and a home run. He drove in 10 runs, scored 10 runs, and stole a base. Defensively, Jackson-Anderson had eight putouts, and for his efforts, he earned this week's MCAC North Division Baseball Position Player of the Week award.
