The Minnesota College Athletic Conference (MCAC) has released its baseball weekly awards for the week of April 29 - May 5.
Clement Febus, a right-handed pitcher for Rochester Community and Technical College, has been named this week's MCAC South Division Baseball Pitcher of the Week. Febus went 2-0 in his two starts, pitching 11 innings without an earned run and scattering seven hits. He struck out 13 and walked five in his two wins. Dom Vogel, outfielder and catcher for Century College, went 9 for 17 from the plate, hitting .529, with four doubles and a triple. Vogel drove in 11 runs and scored 10 times while walking five times. He also stole two bases and earned this week's MCAC South Division Baseball Position Player of the Week honor.
Carson Reeve, left-handed pitcher for St. Cloud Technical and Community College, started one game this week and threw his second straight two-hit shutout to earn another win. Reeve struck out 4 batters and walked one in his seven innings of work, and for his efforts, he earned this week's MCAC Central Division Baseball Pitcher of the Week award, his second in as many weeks. Carter Lang, Alexandria Technical and Community College's shortstop, went 17 for 26 from the plate, hitting .653, with three doubles and five home runs. Lang also drove in 22 runs, scored 13, walked three times, and stole two bases to earn this week's MCAC Central Division Baseball Position Player of the Week award.
Kyle Rutherford, a left-handed pitcher for Minnesota North College - Itasca, earned this week's MCAC North Division Baseball Pitcher of the Week award. Rutherford started one game, picking up the win, giving up only one earned run while striking out three batters and walking two. He scattered five hits and two runs over six innings of work. Carter Kalin, the catcher for Minnesota North College - Itasca, hit .800, going 8 for 10 from the plate with two doubles and a home run. He drove in eight runs, scored four runs, and walked once. Kalin also was two for two throwing out runners attempting to steal a base, and he earned this week's MCAC North Division Baseball Position Player of the Week award.
