The Minnesota College Athletic Conference (MCAC) has released its weekly soccer awards for the week of September 9-15.
There were no nominations for the Women's Soccer Goalkeeper-of-the-Week award. Rochester Community and Technical College defender Jackie Reyna scored the first goal of the Yellowjackets' win over Alexandria Technical and Community College to earn the Defensive Field Athlete-of-the-Week honor. Reyna took one shot and scored it, and then played shut-down defense the remainder of the game to get a 9-1 win. Mila Van Der Velde, midfielder for Rochester Community and Technical College, earned the week's Offensive Field Athlete-of-the-Week award. Van Der Velde scored two goals on seven shots, five of which were shot on goal.
Riverland Community College's goalkeeper Camden Williams earned the Men's Soccer Goalkeeper-of-the-Week honor with his ten saves in 12 shots on goal. Williams gave up only two goals in 180 minutes of net time. Tristin Nosbisch, defender for Riverland Community College, was named the Defensive Field Athlete-of-the-Week honoree, scoring one goal on three shots. Nosbisch anchored a defense that gave up only one goal in each of the team's two wins during the week. Alex Ulrich, midfielder for Riverland Community College, earned the Offensive Field Athlete-of-the-Week award after scoring three goals on his six shots. Ulrich scored the two goals in a 2-1 win over Anoka-Ramsey Community College and then added the game-winner in 2-1 win over Lake Superior College.
