MCAC Soccer Athletes of the Week: Week of September 23-29

Rochester, MN-

The Minnesota College Athletic Conference (MCAC) has released its weekly soccer awards for the week of September 23-29.

There were no nominations for the Women's Soccer Athlete of the Week awards.

Riverland Community College swept the men's awards this week. Camden Williams, goalkeeper for the Blue Devils, earned the Men's Soccer Goalkeeper-of-the-Week honor by saving eight of the eleven shots on goal. He gave up three goals in 180 minutes of action as Riverland tied with DII Dakota County Technical College and picked up a 2-0 win over Lake Superior College. Abdoul Mohamman, defender for the Blue Devils, was named the Defensive Field Athlete-of-the-Week honoree after scoring a goal and helping his team to a come-from-behind tie with DCTC. Mohamman played 150 minutes over two games, took two shots, and limited his opposition to only one goal in the two games. Nick Asmus, forward for the Blue Devils, earned the Offensive Field Athlete-of-the-Week award. Asmus scored two goals in four shots during the week. His first goal helped lead a three-goal come-from-behind tie against DCTC, and then he put the next game out of reach for LSC by scoring Riverland's second goal of the game.
