The Minnesota College Athletic Conference (MCAC) has released its football athlete of the week awards for the week of September 30 - October 6.
Minnesota West Community and Technical College quarterback Elijah Alexander earned an Offensive Player of the Week honor after completing 10 of his 20 passes for 196 yards and three touchdowns in a 66-7 win over Minnesota North College - Vermilion. Alexander also had 10 rushes for 98 yards and two touchdowns. Rashad Madden, running back for Minnesota State Community and Technical College, rushed for 196 yards on 19 carries to earn the other Offensive Player of the Week award. Madden scored two touchdowns and averaged 10.3 yards per carry in the Spartans' 31-26 win over Rochester Community and Technical College.
Terrance Pierre, outside linebacker for Minnesota West Community and Technical College, had three solo and three assisted tackles to earn a Defensive Player-of-the-Week award. Of Pierre's six total tackles, three of them resulted in a loss of yardage, with two credited as sacks. He also broke up a pass. There were no nominations for the other Defensive Player-of-the-Week award.
There were no nominations for the Special Teams Player-of-the-Week award.
