The Minnesota College Athletic Conference (MCAC) has released its weekly soccer awards for the week of October 7 - October 13.
Rochester Community and Technical College goalkeeper Chloe Mart earned the MCAC Women's Soccer Goalkeeper-of-the-Week award for the second straight week. Mart had three saves in four shots on goal. In 90 minutes of action, she gave up only one goal and has led her Yellowjackets to a 6-1-1 record this season. Izabella Nanoski, defender, captained the Rochester Community and Technical College's defense to an 8-1 win over Anoka-Ramsey Community College, and with the win, the Yellowjackets captured the MCAC championship. Nanoski earned the Defensive Field Athlete-of-the-Week award for the second consecutive week. Rochester Community and Technical College forward Kaylee Narveson earned this week's Offensive Field Athlete-of-the-Week award. Scoring three goals and assisting on another, Narveson ensured the Yellowjackets repeated as the MCAC champs. She took five shots on goal in the 8-1 win over Anoka-Ramsey.
Riverland Community College goalkeeper Camden Williams earned the MCAC Men's Soccer Goalkeeper-of-the-Week honor for the third straight week. Williams saved 20 shots on goal and gave up only one goal in 180 minutes of net-play to secure a conference title for the Blue Devils. Williams has a goals-against average of 1.19 this season. Riverland Community College defender Tristin Nosbisch earned the Defensive Field Athlete-of-the-Week award after playing shut-down defense against Anoka-Ramsey Community College and Alexandria Technical and Community College, giving up only one goal in the two games. Nosbisch leads a defense that has given up only seven goals in eight MCAC contests this season. Poe Reh, forward for Riverland Community College, earned his second consecutive Offensive Field Athlete-of-the-Week award. Reh took one shot on goal and scored it while also assisting on another goal. Reh's goal was the game-winner against Alexandria Tech to secure the MCAC title, Riverland's first in program history.
