Region 13 Soccer Tournaments Get Underway this Week

The 2024 NJCAA Region 13 Women's and Men's Soccer Tournaments are scheduled to get underway this week. 

In the women's tournament, Anoka-Ramsey Community College will travel to Minnesota College Athletic Conference (MCAC) champion Rochester Community and Technical College on Saturday, October 26, to play the single game of the tournament. Alexandria Technical and Community College was not able to field a full team for the tournament and withdrew. Anoka-Ramsey finished the regular season in second place in the MCAC with a 3-3 overall record and a 2-2 conference record. Rochester went 7-1-1 on the season and 4-0 in the MCAC to claim the conference title. In the two regular season matchups between the Golden Rams and the Yellowjackets, Rochester won 5-1 and 8-1.

The men's Region 13 Tournament will kick off on Tuesday with #5-seeded Lake Superior College (1-9-1 overall, 0-6-1 conference) traveling to #4-seeded Anoka-Ramsey Community College (5-5-2 overall, 3-4-1 in the MCAC), with the winner advancing to the semifinals on Thursday to play at top-seeded Riverland Community College. Riverland is the MCAC champion for the first time in program history, and with their 7-3-3 overall record and 6-1-1 conference record, the Blue Devils hope to repeat as Region 13 champions. Minnesota West Community and Technical College (3-7-1 overall, 3-3-1 in the MCAC) is this season's #3 seed, and the Bluejays will travel to #2-seeded Alexandria Technical and Community College (4-2-2 overall, 4-2-2 in the MCAC) on Thursday in the second semifinal game.

The winners of the two men's semifinal contests will play on Sunday, October 27, at the highest remaining seed's home site.

 

Women's Tournament Championship Game:

Saturday, October 26 at Noon: Anoka-Ramsey Community College at Rochester Community and Technical College

 

Men's Tournament Schedule:

Tuesday, October 22 at 2:00 PM: #5 Lake Superior College at #4 Anoka-Ramsey Community College
 
Semifinals on Thursday, October 24:
6:30 PM - #3 Minnesota West Community and Technical College at #2 Alexandria Technical and Community College
7:00 PM - #5/#4 winner at #1 Riverland Community College 
 
Championship Game on Sunday, October 27:
Winners of the semifinal games will advance to the championship game. The championship game will be played at the highest remaining seed.
