The Minnesota College Athletic Conference (MCAC) has released its weekly soccer awards for the week of October 14-20.
There were no nominations for the MCAC Women's Soccer Goalkeeper-of-the-Week award. Kya Linden, Rochester Community and Technical College defender, earned the Defensive Field Athlete-of-the-Week award. Linden played 180 minutes and shut down her opponent in each of the Yellowjackets two games last week. Rochester Community and Technical College midfielder Lilly Farrand earned this week's Offensive Field Athlete-of-the-Week award. Farrand scored three goals in four shots this week. She scored two goals in a win over Faith Baptist College and then scored another goal against Madison College.
Minnesota West Community and Technical College goalkeeper Eli Robinson earned the MCAC Men's Soccer Goalkeeper-of-the-Week award. Robinson saved 20 shots on goal and gave up only three goals in 225 minutes of action. He had a shutout against Oak Hills Christian College, his first of the season. Minnesota West Community and Technical College defender Joenghyeon Han earned the Defensive Field Athlete-of-the-Week award. Han played all 270 minutes of the three Bluejays' games this week and recorded an assist while anchoring a defense that gave up only three goals in the three wins. Dario Neves, forward for Minnesota West Community and Technical College, earned the Offensive Field Athlete-of-the-Week award. Neves scored four goals and had an assist in his team's three wins during the week. He had a hand in each of the three goals the Bluejays scored against Anoka-Ramsey Community College in their 3-2 win.
