The Minnesota College Athletic Conference (MCAC) Football Playoffs continue on Sunday, with the top four seeded MCAC teams still alive and seeking the chance to play in the MCAC/Region 13 Championship Game and possibly qualify for the NJCAA National Championship Game.
The #5 team in the nation and the #2 seed in the MCAC Playoffs, Rochester Community & Technical College (5-4 overall, 4-2 in the MCAC) will play host to Minnesota North College - Mesabi Range on Sunday at 1:30 pm after defeating Minnesota West Community and Technical College 31-28 last weekend. MNC-Mesabi Range is 3-3 overall and finished the MCAC regular season with a 3-3 record and the playoff's #3 seed. The Norse were scheduled to play Central Lakes College last weekend, but CLC canceled the game due to not having enough healthy players. When Rochester Community and Technical College and MNC-Mesabi Range faced off during the regular season, RCTC won 24-14.
North Dakota State College of Science (7-1 overall, 6-0 MCAC) is the #1 seed in the MCAC Football Playoffs and is currently ranked #3 in the nation. The Wildcats had a bye last weekend and will take on #4 seed Minnesota State Community and Technical College on Sunday at 1:30 pm. The Spartans finished the regular season with an overall record of 4-4 and 3-3 in the MCAC, and they advanced to the semifinals after knocking off Minnesota North College - Vermilion 16-7 last weekend. During the season, NDSCS defeated M State 30-23.
The winners of each MCAC semifinal game will move on to the MCAC Championship Game, which will be held at 1:00 PM on November 3 at St. Cloud State University in St. Cloud, MN.
