Football Recognizes 86 Athletes with All-MCAC Team Honors

Rochester, MN -

The Minnesota College Athletic Conference (MCACrecognized 86 MCAC football student-athletes from the seven participating programs as members of the 2024 All-MCAC Team. These awards were selected by the head football coaches in the MCAC.

North Dakota State College of Science won the MCAC regular season title, going 6-0 through conference play and 8-1 overall. The Wildcats will play in the MCAC/Region 13 Football Championship Game on Sunday and had 15 players make the All-MCAC Team. The Wildcats will play Minnesota North College - Mesabi Range in the title game. The Norse placed 13 players on the All-MCAC Team.

Rochester Community and Technical College finished the regular season in second place and named 15 players to the All-MCAC Team. Minnesota State Community and Technical College placed 13 on the team after finishing the season as the 4th place team in the MCAC. Minnesota North College - Vermilion finished the season in 5th place, and they named 11 players to the esteemed team. Central Lakes College, as the 6th place team, saw eight players make the All-MCAC Team. Minnesota West Community and Technical College finished the season in 7th place and had 11 make earn the post-season honor.   

The MCAC Coaches-of-the-Year are Tom Inforzato from Minnesota North College - Mesabi Range and Jermaine Smith from Minnesota West Community and Technical College. Inforzato led his Norse team to a 4-3 overall record and 3-3 record in the MCAC. The Norse defeated Rochester in the MCAC Playoff Semifinals to advance to the championship game. Mesabi Range is currently receiving votes in the latest NJCAA DIII Football Poll. Smith led his Minnesota West Community and Technical College team to an undefeated regular season before self-reporting the use of ineligible players and forfeiting their six conference wins. Smith took over a program that was winless in 2023 and turned it into a team that was recognized as the #2 team in the nation before being stripped of their wins. The Bluejays finished the season with an 0-6 MCAC record and 0-8 overall.  

There will be an All-Region 13 Team and Region 13 Coach of the Year named following the conclusion of the MCAC/Region 13 football playoffs and end-of-season coaches meeting.
