MCAC Winter Sports Athletes of the Week: Week of October 28-November 3

Rochester, MN - 

The Minnesota College Athletic Conference (MCAC) has released its winter sports athletes of the week awards for the week of October 28 - November 3.

Tamia Cahee, strong forward for Minnesota North College - Vermilion, earned the MCAC North Division Women's Basketball Athlete-of-the-Week.  Cahee scored 41 points and grabbed 16 rebounds in her two games this week. She shot 43.9% from the field, and her five assists, nine steals, and one block helped the Ironhawks get their first win of the season. 

Minnesota North College - Hibbing guard, Trenton Shelton, earned the MCAC North Division Men's Basketball Athlete-of-the-Week award. Shelton scored 22 points, going 10 for 19 (52.6%) from the field. He added three rebounds, five assists, one steal, and two blocks in the Cardinals' first two games of the season.  

Rochester Community and Technical College forward, Kara Goetzinger, has been named the week's MCAC South Division Women's Basketball Athlete-of-the-Week. Goetzinger was 24 of 34 from the field, shooting 70.5% from the field, and scoring 50 points in the Yellowjackets two games. She also picked up 14 rebounds, four assists, two steals, and five blocks.

Zack Rygg, guard for Minnesota West Community and Technical College, earned the MCAC South Division Men's Basketball Athlete of the Week award after scoring 42 points on 50.0% (14-28) shooting from the field. Rygg had 16 rebounds, two assists, and six steals in 51 minutes of action. His double-double on Saturday helped the Blue Jays to their second opening weekend win. 

Citto Tuttle, heavyweight wrestler for Rochester Community and Technical College, won the RCTC Yellowjacket Open on Saturday. En route to winning the title, Tuttle defeated a returning All-American and three nationally-ranked wrestlers. He earned this week's MCAC Wrestler of the Week award.

MCAC Wrestling Athlete-of-the-Week

 

 

Citto Tuttle

FR / HWT

Stillwater, MN

 

 

 

Citto Tuttle won the Rochester Community and Technical College Yellowjacket Open over the weekend. He defeated a returning All-American wrestler and three nationally-ranked wrestlers to capture the title. Tuttle's bracket was comprised of wrestlers from various levels, including the NCAA D2, NCAA D3, and some of the nation's top NJCAA colleges.

Rochester Community and Technical College returns to the mat on Saturday when they compete at the Luther College Open in Decorah, IA.
