NJCAA Region 13 has announced its All-Region 13 Football Team for the 2024 season, and 24 student-athletes competing at MCAC member colleges have been named to the team.
North Dakota State College of Science, winners of the Region 13 Championship Game, and Rochester Community and Technical College each had seven players make the distinguished team. Minnesota North College - Mesabi Range and Minnesota State Community and Technical College each had five players earn the region honor. Minnesota North College - Vermilion, Central Lakes College, and Minnesota West Community and Technical College each placed three players on the team.
Johnathan Mosley, quarterback for Minnesota North College - Mesabi Range, was named the Region 13 Offensive Player-of-the-Year for the second straight season. North Dakota State College of Science linebacker, Sammy Miller, was named the Region 13 Defensive Player-of-the-Year. North Dakota State College of Science head coach Eric Issendorf was named the Region 13 Coach of the Year.
Mosley, a sophomore from Stuart, FL, completed 57.3% of his passes this season. Of his 178 passes, 102 were completed for 1367 yards and 11 touchdowns. He averaged 170.9 yards passing per game. Mosley also ran the ball 78 times for 266 yards and 7 touchdowns. He averaged 33.3 yards per game rushing. Mosley was ranked third in the MCAC in completions, total passing yards, and touchdowns, and he led the Norse team to a 4-4 overall record and helped the team qualify for the MCAC/Region 13 Football Championship Game.
Miller, a sophomore from Pflugerville, TX, had 78 tackles in 10 games for the Wildcats, with 41 solo and 37 assisted tackles, and he picked up 3 sacks on the season. Miller averaged 7.8 tackles per game and had 5.5 tackles for a loss of yardage and had one interception. He led the MCAC in tackles and ranked third in average tackles per game. Miller led a defense that helped NDSCS win the MCAC regular season and NJCAA Region 13 titles, going 9-1 overall and 6-0 in conference play.
Coach Issendorf, in his 7th year as the head coach of North Dakota State College of Science, led his team to a 6-0 MCAC regular season record and 9-1 record overall. The Wildcats were perfect through the playoffs capturing the Region 13 title to go along with their MCAC regular season championship title. Issendorf has his team tied for the #2 ranking in the latest NJCAA DIII Football Poll, and the Wildcats are still capable of making the NJCAA DIII Football Championship Game at the College of DuPage on December 7.
