The Minnesota College Athletic Conference (MCAC) has released its winter sports athletes of the week awards for the week of November 18 - 24.
Central Lakes College center Chesney Phillipp earned the MCAC North Division Women's Basketball Athlete-of-the-Week award for the second straight week. In her two games, Phillipp averaged 12.5 points, 15 rebounds, and 3.5 blocks. She went 10 for 23 from the field, shooting 43.4%, and totaled 25 points, 30 rebounds, two assists, and seven blocks in 58 minutes of action.
Minnesota North College - Rainy River forward Rodney Mozard earned the MCAC North Division Men's Basketball Athlete-of-the-Week award. In one game this week, Mozard scored 13 points, grabbed 10 rebounds, had two steals and four blocks, and assisted on four baskets. He made five of seven shots in the team's win over Red Lake Nation College, shooting 71.4% from the field and 75% from the free-throw line.
There were no nominations for this week's MCAC South Division Women's Basketball Athlete-of-the-Week award.
Christian Campbell, guard for Riverland Community College, earned the MCAC South Division Men's Basketball Athlete of the Week award. Campbell played 56 minutes in two wins for the Blue Devils, scoring 38 points on 16 for 22 (72.7%) shooting from the field and 5 for 6 (83.3%) from the 3-point arc. Campbell also had 12 rebounds, five assists, and four steals throughout the week.
There were no nominations for this week's MCAC Wrestling Athlete of the Week award.
