MCAC Winter Sports Athletes of the Week: Week of December 2-8

Rochester, MN - 

The Minnesota College Athletic Conference (MCAC) has released its winter sports athletes of the week awards for the week of December 2 - 8.

Jade Reese, guard for Northland Community and Technical College, earned the MCAC North Division Women's Basketball Athlete-of-the-Week.  Reese hit 13 of 17 shots from the floor and 7 of 10 from the free throw line to score 33 points in her team's two wins during the week. In 58 minutes of action, she added 11 rebounds, 10 assists, and 10 steals to her stat line as well. 

Central Lakes College forward Josh Rogers earned the MCAC North Division Men's Basketball Athlete-of-the-Week award. Rogers went seven for nine from the field, shooting 77.8% and scoring 15 points in 23 minutes. He grabbed eight rebounds, assisted on two baskets, and recorded a steal and a block in the Raiders win over Rochester.   

Madison Foss, forward for Minnesota State Community and Technical College has been named the week's MCAC South Division Women's Basketball Athlete-of-the-Week. Foss scored 34 points and pulled down 25 rebounds in her two games to average a double-double on the week. She also had nine assists, six steals, and two blocks in the Spartans' two wins.

Minnesota State Community and Technical College strong forward Foday Sheriff earned the MCAC South Division Men's Basketball Athlete of the Week award. Sheriff shot 60% on the week, going 24 for 40 from the field to score 69 points in the Spartans' three wins. He also grabbed 25 rebounds and had nine assists, seven steals, and five blocks.

Anna Kos, a 103-pound wrestler for Minnesota North College - Itasca, placed second overall at the Buena Vista Women's Wrestling Open last weekend. Kos, a freshman, wrestled five matches, pinning her opponents in four of them. She had only one loss on the day and earned this week's MCAC Wrestler of the Week award.

Anna Kos placed second in the Buena Vista Women's Wrestling Open last weekend. She pinned four opponents in her five matches, losing only once. She placed second overall. 

Minnesota North College - Itasca women's wrestling returns to the mat on January 9 at the Northland Community and Technical College Dual in Thief River Falls, MN.
