MCAC Winter Sports Athletes of the Week: Week of December 30 - January 5

Rochester, MN - 

The Minnesota College Athletic Conference (MCAC) has released its winter sports athletes of the week awards for the week of December 30 - January 5.

Cate Travis, a guard for Central Lakes College, earned the MCAC North Division Women's Basketball Athlete-of-the-Week award.  Travis scored 31 points, going 9 for 23 from the field and 8 for 15 from the three-point arc to lead the Raiders to another pair of wins. She added 11 rebounds, eight assists, and three steals to her stat line, playing 75 minutes during the week.  

Josh Rogers, a forward for Central Lakes College, earned the MCAC North Division Men's Basketball Athlete-of-the-Week award. Rogers returned to the lineup from an injury and immediately made an impact, scoring 23 points in 31 minutes of action. He made 8 of 13 shots from the field and collected eight rebounds, one assist, one steal, and two blocks.   

Minnesota State Community and Technical College shooting guard Kharmon Wells has been named the week's MCAC South Division Women's Basketball Athlete-of-the-Week award winner. Wells shot 48.7% from the field and scored 47 points in the Spartans two wins. She rebounded six balls, had 10 assists, eight steals, and a block in her 74 minutes of action.

Riverland Community College guard Damar Jenkins earned the MCAC South Division Men's Basketball Athlete of the Week award. Jenkins played 31 minutes and scored 26 points, helping his Blue Devils win convincingly over Central Lakes College. Jenkins also had nine rebounds, five assists, two steals, and a block while shooting 50% (8-16) from the three-point line.   

There were no nominations submitted this week for the MCAC Wrestler of the Week award.
