The Minnesota College Athletic Conference (MCAC) has released its winter sports athletes of the week awards for the week of February 3-9.
There were no nominations for the MCAC North Division Women's Basketball Athlete-of-the-Week award this week.
Jaiquavious Ackey, forward for Central Lakes College, earned the MCAC North Division Men's Basketball Athlete-of-the-Week award. In 51 minutes of on-court action this week, Ackey scored 56 points on 79.4% shooting from the field. He made 27 of 34 shots from the field, and also had 16 rebounds, six assists, and nine steals in the Raiders' two wins during the week.
Rochester Community and Technical College point guard Macaya Copeland earned the MCAC South Division Women's Basketball Athlete-of-the-Week award. Copeland shot 73.3% from the field, knocking down 11 of her 15 shots and 5 of 7 three-point attempts to total 28 points in the Yellowjackets win. She added four rebounds, four steals, and two assists in 29 minutes of action.
Ridgewater College forward DeAndre Holloway earned the MCAC South Division Men's Basketball Athlete of the Week award. Scoring 21 points in the Warriors' win, Holloway shot 77.8% from the free-throw line, grabbed 12 rebounds, and had three blocks to help Ridgewater overcome a 19-point deficit to pick up a win. He also had a steal in the game and made 7 of his 19 shots from the field.
There were no nominations submitted this week for the MCAC Wrestler of the Week award.
