The Minnesota College Athletic Conference (MCAC) has released its winter sports athletes of the week awards for the week of February 10-16.
Tiyana Schwinghammer, guard for Northland Community and Technical College, earned the MCAC North Division Women's Basketball Athlete-of-the-Week award. Schwinghammer hit 23 of 30 shots from the floor, scoring 48 points in 49 minutes of court time. She grabbed 15 rebounds and had 10 assists, six steals, and three blocks in the Pioneers' two wins this week.
Central Lakes College forward Jaiquavious Ackey earned the MCAC North Division Men's Basketball Athlete-of-the-Week award. Ackey was 18 for 30 from the field, shooting 60% and scoring 39 points in two road wins this week. He added 17 rebounds, seven assists, and five steals to his stat line and helped the Raiders take sole possession of first place in the MCAC North Division.
Felicity LeBlanc, guard for Minnesota State Community and Technical College, has been named the MCAC South Division Women's Basketball Athlete-of-the-Week. LeBlanc scored 42 points on 51.6% shooting from the field and 57.1% from the three-point arc. She pulled down 16 rebounds and had five assists, three steals, and three blocks in 82 minutes of action.
Riverland Community College guard Nazih Chehade earned the MCAC South Division Men's Basketball Athlete of the Week award. Chehade continued putting up impressive stats while leading the Blue Devils to two more MCAC South Division wins. He scored 34 points on 52.0% shooting from the field and grabbed 20 rebounds, 13 assists, and four steals in 80 minutes of action.
Sam Rock, a 174-pound freshman wrestler for Minnesota West Community and Technical College, capped off a tremendous regular season by defeating his St. John's University opponent 9-2 last Wednesday in a dual matchup. Each time he hits the mat, Rock continues to knock off his opponents from the NJCAA, NCAA DII and DIII, and NAIA levels, and he earned this week's MCAC Wrestler of the Week award.

Sam Rock defeated his St. John's University opponent 9-2 last Wednesday in a dual matchup. Rock is currently ranked #11 in the country and has defeated numerous NCAA DII, DIII, NAIA, and NJCAA opponents this season. Minnesota West Community and Technical College Wrestling will host the NJCAA Region 13/North Plains District Tournament on Sunday, February 23, in Worthington, MN.
