The Minnesota College Athletic Conference (MCAC) has released its softball weekly awards for the week of March 10-16.
Kaitlyn Geschwill, a right-handed pitcher for Central Lakes College, earned this week's MCAC North Division Softball Pitcher of the Week honor. Geschwill appeared in five games, starting three, and threw 15.2 innings from the circle. She gave up only three earned runs while striking out 19 batters, and she finished the week with a 3-2 record. Geschwill was 9 for 30 from the plate with three doubles and five RBI.
Central Lakes College shortstop Morgan Kloss earned this week's MCAC North Division Softball Position Player of the Week award. Kloss hit .391, going 9 for 23 from the plate. She hit five doubles and scored seven runs. Kloss drove in ten runs and walked once. She also pitched 11 innings and struck out 11 and posted a .617 ERA.
Hailey Stallings, a right-handed pitcher for St. Cloud Technical and Community College, threw 7.0 innings from the circle, giving up three earned runs on 12 hits. In her one complete game, Stallings had four strikeouts and no walks, and she also hit .333 with three walks, an RBI, and three runs scored to earn the MCAC South Division Pitcher of the Week award.
St. Cloud Technical and Community College outfielder Sami Petzel earned this week's MCAC South Division Softball Position Player of the Week award. Petzel hit .533, going 8 for 15 with two doubles and a triple. She drove in five runs and scored seven. Petzel also stole two bases and had a perfect fielding percentage with four putouts.
