The Minnesota College Athletic Conference (MCAC) has released its baseball weekly awards for the week of March 17-23.
Riverland Community College right-handed pitcher Carter McQuery has been named this week's MCAC South Division Baseball Pitcher of the Week. In his one starting appearance, McQuery gave up no earned runs and only three hits in five innings of work. He struck out six batters and walked two, giving up only two unearned runs in the Blue Devils' win.
Haruto Endo, outfielder for Minnesota West Community and Technical College, earned this week's MCAC South Division Baseball Position Player of the Week award. Endo picked up six hits on 11 at-bats, hitting .546 on the week. He hit a double and a triple, drove in four runs, and scored seven. Endo also stole a base and walked once.
Tyson Barthel, a right-handed pitcher for Minnesota State Community and Technical College, earned his second straight MCAC Central Division Baseball Pitcher of the Week honor. In his five-inning win, Barthel gave up only two hits and no runs while striking out seven and walking one. He also hit .200 for the week with two hits and four RBI.
Dalton Heater, left fielder for Minnesota State Community and Technical College, hit .454 on the week, picking up five hits on 11 at-bats. Heater homered once and drove in six runs, scored seven runs, and stole a base. He also walked three times and earned the week's MCAC Central Division Baseball Position Player of the Week award.
Minnesota North College - Rainy River right-handed pitcher Preston Dyok was named this week's MCAC North Division Baseball Pitcher of the Week honoree. Dyok pitched a 10-inning complete game in one of his two appearances during the week, earning his first collegiate win. He gave up one earned run and scattered six hits while striking out 11 and walking three.
Minnesota North College - Rainy River utility player Ian Becker hit .556, going 10 for 18 from the plate. Becker doubled and tripled, driving in seven runs and scoring seven runs. He walked four times and stole a base to earn the week's MCAC North Division Baseball Position Player of the Week award. Becker had a game-winning RBI in the top of the 10th inning vs. Alexandria College to help the Voyageurs win.
