MCAC Softball Athletes of the Week: Week of March 24-30

Rochester, MN - 

The Minnesota College Athletic Conference (MCAC) has released its softball weekly awards for the week of March 24-30.

Kaitlyn Geschwill, a right-handed pitcher for Central Lakes College, earned this week's MCAC North Division Softball Pitcher of the Week honor for the third time this season. In her two appearances, Geschwill struck out 16 batters and walked only five. She gave up eight earned runs over 11.2 innings of work, going 1-1 for the week.  

Alyizzia Roy, outfielder for Minnesota North College - Itasca, earned this week's MCAC North Division Softball Position Player of the Week award. Roy was 6 for 10 from the plate, hitting .600. She hit one double and scored four runs. Roy walked once and was hit by a pitch.       

Kya Alderson, a right-handed pitcher for Minnesota West Community and Technical College, earned the MCAC South Division Pitcher of the Week award. Throwing ten innings, Alderson scattered six hits and struck out 13 batters, while walking only four. She gave up four earned runs. Offensively, Alderson hit a double, drove in three runs, and scored seven. 

St. Cloud Technical and Community College shortstop Kenzie Hill earned this week's MCAC South Division Softball Position Player of the Week award. Hitting .588 for the week, Hill went 10-for-17 at the plate with three doubles, a triple, and four RBI. She scored seven runs, walked twice, and stole three bases. Additionally, Hill recorded six putouts and 10 assists on 17 total chances in the field.
