The Minnesota College Athletic Conference (MCAC) has released its baseball weekly awards for the week of March 31 - April 6.
Nathan Bunyard, a right-handed pitcher for Century College, has been named this week's MCAC South Division Baseball Pitcher of the Week. In his one starting appearance, Bunyard threw a two-hitter over five innings without giving up a run, earned or unearned. He struck out nine and walked one in the Wood Ducks' win.
Logan Arndt, first baseman for Western Technical College, earned this week's MCAC South Division Baseball Position Player of the Week award. In 18 at-bats, Arndt had eight hits for a .444 batting average for the week. He hit a double and two home runs, while driving in 13 runs and scoring six. Arndt also walked once and stole a base in the Cavaliers' four wins.
There were no nominations for this week's MCAC Central Division Baseball Pitcher of the Week award.
Cole Swift, utility player for Anoka-Ramsey Community College, hit .800 on the week, pounding four hits in five at-bats. Swift had two doubles and a triple, driving in four runs and scoring six times. He also walked four times and stole three bases to win both games of a doubleheader with Central Lakes and earn the week's MCAC Central Division Baseball Position Player of the Week award.
Minnesota North College - Rainy River right-handed pitcher Collin Haymond earned this week's MCAC North Division Baseball Pitcher of the Week honor. In his one starting appearance for the week, Haymond threw seven innings, scattering seven hits and giving up two earned runs. He struck out nine and walked one in the win.
Minnesota North College - Itasca first baseman Cooper Flaig hit .750 with a double and a home run. Flaig picked up six hits in eight at-bats, and he drove in six runs and scored four times. He did not walk or steal a base, but Flaig's offensive firepower led the Vikings to a 3-1 record for the week, earning him this week's MCAC North Division Baseball Position Player of the Week award.
