MCAC Winter Sports Athletes of the Week: October 30 - November 9

Rochester, MN - 

The Minnesota College Athletic Conference (MCAC) has released its winter sports athletes of the week awards for the week of October 30 - November 9.

Memphys Tendrup, guard for Minnesota North College-Mesabi Range, earned the MCAC North Division Women's Basketball Athlete-of-the-Week award. Tendrup played 70 minutes through two games and scored 48 points on 52.6% shooting. She shot 75% from the free throw line and 31.3% from behind the 3-point arc. Tendrup also tallied 18 rebounds, 12 assists, 8 steals, and one block, helping Mesabi Range grab two wins.   

Minnesota North College-Mesabi Range guard Tahje Johnson earned the MCAC North Division Men's Basketball Athlete-of-the-Week award. Johnson shot 60.5% from the field and 41.7% from the 3-point arc, scoring 54 points in 62 minutes of playing time. He grabbed nine rebounds, had five steals, and eight assists in two wins over MNC-Rainy River to open the season. Johnson assisted on a buzzer-beater to secure the second win of the week for the Norse.   

Anoka-Ramsey Community College center Mariam Alowonle earned the MCAC South Division Women's Basketball Athlete-of-the-Week award. Alowonle scored 41 points and grabbed 27 rebounds in 81 minutes of playing time. She shot 47% from the field and had 10 assists, five steals, and four blocks over the three games. Alowonle helped her Golden Rams go 2-1 to open the season.

Jack Boos, guard for St. Cloud Technical and Community College, was named the MCAC South Division Men's Basketball Athlete of the Week honoree. Boos, in 36 minutes of playing time, scored 38 points in the Cyclones' one game, which is the second-highest point total in a game in SCTCC history. He also had six rebounds, five assists, and four steals in the win. Boos shot 52% from the field and 88% from the free-throw line.    

Riley Livingston, the 184-pound wrestler at Northland Community and Technical College, earned the MCAC Wrestler of the Week award. Livingston went 4-0 with a fall and two major decisions to win the 184 lb. division at the Haws/Elton Rumble at St. John's University. He scored 14.0 team points and picked up two wins over four-year college athletes.

Riley Livingston went 4-0 with a fall and two major decisions on his way to winning the 184-pound championship at the Haws/Elton 4-Team Rumble Saturday at St. John's University. Riley Livingston placed 1st and scored 14.0 team points.
