Region XIII Baseball Championship Postponed

Region XIII Baseball Championship Postponed

St. Cloud, MN-

The 2019 NJCAA Region XIII Baseball tournament is down to the final two contenders, after a busy day which saw two other teams conclude their seasons.  However, due to weather and field conditions, the championship crowning will wait 48 hours longer than anticipated.

No. 8 seed Rochester Community & Technical College dealt losses to pair of teams in the first two days of play, as the Yellowjackets made a deep run in the 2019 tournament.  SCTCC avenged an opening day loss to RCTC by defeating them today, 10-1 to end the Rochester 2019 campaign. The Cyclones went on to face M State-Fergus Falls and ended the Spartans season with a 4-1 victory.

Century College had defeated M State earlier in the afternoon in shutout fashion 2-0, booking their ticket to the Championship round on Monday.

The Cyclones and Wood Ducks will square off in a repeat of last season's finale on Monday, May 20 with a first pitch at Noon. Game two, if necessary, will begin at approximately 4pm.  SCTCC will need to win both contests, while Century can claim the championship with one win.

Tomorrow's championship will feature a 1pm first pitch; Game two is if necessary and would start at 4pm, should the Cyclones take the opening contest.
