MCAC Football 2017 Western All-Division Teams

MCAC Football 2017 Western All-Division Teams

Rochester, Mn-

With the conclusion of the Minnesota College Athletic Conference football season, the All-Division teams for MCAC Football have been named for 2017.

Head coaches from each member college nominated their own student-athletes and voted on team placement of the recognized individuals.  In the Western Division, MCAC State Championship Game winner Northland Community & Technical College and Divisional Champion  Dakota College-Bottineau led the way with a pair of offensive standouts at the top of the list.

Northland quarterback Shannon Patrick and Dakota College running back Elijah Todd were at or among the top statisical performers at their position in the NJCAA in 2017.  Patrick's tremendous passing acumen led the Pioneers to the first MCAC Football State Championship title for Northland in a 68-35 win over Mesabi Range College on November 12th.    North Dakota State College of Science placekicker Gregory Slade Jr.  was the leading kicker in the MCAC this fall, while Ridgewater safety John McClure helped patrol one of the top secondaries in the league.  Reginald Colson III and quarterback Peyton Kendrick of Minnesota West CTC, combined to form a strong passing due found atop a pair of NJCAA receiving categories.  Colson III was the National Player-of-the-Week on Week 3 of the regular season.  M State linebacker/defensive end Andrew Costello  was a top performer for the Spartans and first-year head coach Kory Fry.
